I specifically asked J8d to draw Darla here from a more human-looking perspective, so she's not depicted as the cruel, monstrous fish-killer that Nemo and chums see her as, but instead as a hyper, almost adorable little girl who needs to be taught how to properly take care of pets by a responsible adult. For instance, it seems no adult ever really tells her that it's harmful to the fish to keep shaking the bag like that! From a human perspective, Darla was a very energetic (possibly hyperactive) little girl with something of an obsession for pet fish, but had no clue how to look after them and clearly wasn't being instructed in the best way to take care of any of her fish.
